Carpentry: My Art Story by Dillon

What got me inspired to make this table was my grandpa. Who was making tables at the time. 
So I decided one day to call him and ask if he would teach me how to build a coffee table.  So my
first assignment was to draw up some plans for my table.  After finishing designing my table I called
him and told him that I was ready to build.  So my mom drove me down to my grandpas and left me
there for a couple of days.  

The first thing that we did was show my grandpa the design the symbols are family brands that
dated back to the early 1900’s! So then I thought that it would be a good idea to put them in.  
It's kinda hard to explain the brands as I can not type them, but most were used for cattle when
they were bought at market or raised on the ranch. The one with the CY was my grandpa's brand
for horses when he was an outfitter.  

This art is very important to me as I got to spend quality time with my grandpa and that it showed
family history.  I like to work alongside my grandpa as he has built everything  from his house, barn,
arena and anything you can imagine. He is a great inspiration to me as my mom says we are two
peas in a pod.
